Invest in Girls

I came across this article, or more an ad to help encourage Americans and politicians to invest in girls. This idea seems very mediocre, but it makes a lot of sense. This idea will never work to help our economy alone but with other plans it will definitely push our country into full recovery. The whole plan to 'Invest in Girls' is exactly what it sounds likes. Lets invest in girls to prevent, teenage mothers, and promote educating girls who will eventually turn into women. Women that will stimulate the economy with their salary, instead of becoming a teenage mother and needing government assistance. The article talks about how much money teenage mothers cost other countries, but economics is worldwide. Like I stated this plan does sound mediocre but with other positive plans this might push our economy in the right direction.

This idea may seem kind of silly to some, but honestly it makes a LOT of sense. If we invest in girls today and teach them not only book knowledge, but confidence, independence, and self worth, they will be strong confident women of tomorrow. Where there is a strong mother there is a strong child, thus creating a generation of strong confident thinkers to lead the generations to come. With a generation of strong intelligent people the worlds problems have a better chance of being solved, which includes the problems seen in our economy.

I think this is a great plan. Teen pregnancy is becoming a bigger issue with every year. There are several serious issues with this, but those aside, financially it is causing problems. Children having children causes less high school graduates, less people moving out of their parents home and into their own, less people eating out, and many other common spendings that help our economy. A sixteen year old girl must rely on their famil for support during a teen pregnancy. This not only puts strain on the teen themself but on their family as well. This can affect people's retirement and vacations which overall affects our economy. This also greatly effects our government in their governement assistance. That is extra money lost that could be used for other issues instead of irresponsible teen pregnancies.

Thank you girls, for responding so positively to my post. Since we are talking about taxes, I recently stumbled upon a story of a mother of three kids. She is a single mother and head of her house hold. She lives on welfare and receives a lot of government help. She has no disabilities. But because she is a single mother of three before the age of 20 she can basically live off the government. But she will get a lot of money back on her taxes even though she is not paying anything in. Basically the government is paying her and supporting her for doing nothing. If we help stop young women growing up to become this, it will eventually help the economy.
