Rangers and the World Series
The Texas Rangers have been the world series two times in a row now and have come up short both times. The only thing that the Rangers have gained from the world series was more money. They have brought in so much money from all the merchandise that has been bought. After they went to the world series for the first time, they became a lot more popular and were selling more tickets for the next season. One good thing from all the merchandise that was sold is that Nolan Ryan has more money to spend on free agents to make next year's team better, and take us back to the world series and finally win one. The Rangers bring in a lot of money each year from sales and everything, and the increasing popularity that they are bringing in is helping them increase in value. They'll be able to buy more equipment and things for the players and give them bigger signing bonuses that will hopefully keep them there for a long time. The world series gives any team more revenue and by winning the world series, the team that wins will receive a huge amount of money. More and more people will want to watch the team next year and this will boost the confidence of the team to do well and win another world series.

I wonder what happens to the wasted merchandise (i.e. the products they were printed with the Rangers winning the World Series)? Also, I agree the Rangers have become more popular, but sports radio was discussing how this series brought back the romance to baseball, possibly bringing back it's popularity.
Those wasted merchandises will be sent to second or third world countries for the poor. Because it has lose all its value since the team has lost the series. It could be sold in an inexpensive price or be donated to the poor. This also means that the team has no chance to gain any profit out of those wasted merchandises. Rangers came out short twice straight two years, but this time it was one strike away from winning the World Series. Rangers fans came back to support the team after the losing the World Series, they were definitely frustrated that Rangers couldn’t win this one. Like in the World Series commercial: Legend born in October. It was a dramatic World Series; it bought lots of excitement for the audience. It was the entertainment game but with breaking records. This kind of entertainment will gain more popularity not only to certain team, but also benefit the whole Major League Baseball.
The Texas Rangers were really close to their first world championship a couple weeks ago. The excess demand for tickets, merchandise, food at the ballpark, and Arlington area businesses delivered many profits to the community. I am sure the ranger organization will make many decisions in the off-season to sustain the high level of play experienced this past baseball season. Nolan Ryan has done a great job owning this team. For the past two years, the rangers have almost won the entire World Series. The incentives to keep winning will keep the rangers organization close to the top.
@Smith all the extra merchandise gets shipped to 3rd world countries. I seen it on discovery channel.
how is scarcity involved with the rangers and the world series?
I agree that if the rangers continue to be one of the most prestigious teams that the revenue collected will have a slight growth. A major topic can also be how the rangers will find their equilibrium price for the tickets in the future. With the excesses supply of money they can make the team more efficient as well as the amount of labor in the stadium.
